Funeral services for Marsha K. Hughes of Lawrence, Kansas, were held Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial was held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.

Marsha Kay Hughes, the daughter of Carl W. and Mildred (Ramsey) Schroeder, was born March 3, 1952 in Lawrence. She died Saturday, May 17, 1997 at her home in Lawrence. She lived in Lawrence all of her life. She was a hairdresser and cosmetologist. She also raised several foster children. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Adah Chapter No. 7 Order of the Eastern Star of Lawrence and the Eagles Auxiliary of Lawrence. She was a former member of the Job's Daughters of Lawrence. She was a graduate of Hairbenders School of Cosmetology in Lawrence.

She married Barry G. Hughes on April 20, 1977, in Lawrence.

She is survived by her husband, Barry G. Hughes, a son, Timothy Kochanski of Lawrence, a daughter, Kassie Leigh Hughes of Lawrence, Kansas and a step-daughter, Andrea Norton of Madison, WI, her parents of Lawrence, two sisters, Sandra Nieder of Seal Beach, CA, and Janice (Jerry) Krambeer of Decorah, IA; a grandson, Maxwell Laville Price, and her father and mother in-law, Dick and Dolores Hughes of Frankville, Iowa.
