Konnie Lee Foltz, daughter of Lester and Lillian (Moore) Snyder of Castalia, was born December 25, 1957 at Decorah, Iowa. She died Saturday, May 29, 1995 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah, Iowa after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 37 years old.

She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, Iowa.

Konnie was married to Duane Foltz on April 28, 1973. The couple were the parents of four children: William, Dawn, Amanda and Bruce.

Mr. and Mrs. Foltz lived north of Castalia for 20 years and moved to Ossian in 1993. She was a member of Ossian Lutheran Church. She worked at Iowa Turkey Products in Postville.

Konnie is survived by her parents, Lester and Lillian Snyder; her husband, Duane; four children, William, Dawn, Amanda and Bruce, all at home. Also surviving are a sister, Ruth Thompson of Minneapolis, Minn., two brothers, LeRoy (Sandi) Snyder and Keith Snyder, all of Castalia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale LeRoy Snyder on May 4, 1995.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 23, 1995 at Ossian Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Dale and Mike Foltz, Al Blue and Marvin Buchheit. Casketbearers were Donnie Byrnes, Don Ellis, Jerry Monroe, Wes Thompson, Tom Schultz, Ed Jirak and Daryl Snyder. Interment was at the Centennial Cemetery, Castalia, Iowa. The Ossian Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
