A funeral mass for Edward Fitzpatrick was held Monday, Oct. 29, 1990 at 10 a.m. in St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Ossian. The Rev. Richard W. Kuhn officiated. The visitation was at the Schmitz Funeral Home, Ossian, with arrangements by Schutte Funeral Service of Postville. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Edward T. Fitzpatrick, son of Michael J. and Mary (Maher) Fitzpatrick, was born Dec. 6, 1897 at Frankville, IA. He died Thursday, Oct. 25, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center, West Union, IA, where he had lived for the past 14 years.

He received his education in the rural schools near his home. Ed farmed in the Ossian and Castalia areas for many years. He had also been employed as a caretaker for the lawns and gardens of his neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond and a sister, Helen Finnegan.

Surviving are 2 nephews, Michael Finnegan of Clermont and Robert Fitzpatrick of Sumner, IA; 2 nieces, Jean Schultz of Rancho Palos Verde, CA and Marianne Ironside of Kenosha, WI and several great nieces and nephews.

He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Ossian.

Casketbearers were Patrick, Matthew and Michael Finnegan and Todd, Tim and Ted Ironside.
