Lisa Hageman

Lisa Hageman died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at home in a house fire in Castalia. She was 38 years of age.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, with burial in the First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ossian. Msgr. Cletus J. Hawes officiated with Pastor Dave Lenth as the homilist. Visitation was held at the Schmitz Funeral Home. Lector was Steve Kiesau. Servers were Lucas and Logan Brincks and Carl Bohr. Gifts were carried by Steve and Sue Kiesau and Heather and Chad Coffin. Eucharist Minister was Karla Hageman. The Music was provided by organist, Diane Stee, song leader, Julie Buddenberg, and soloist, Russ Guyer. The casket bearers were Jeff Kugel, Kaarn McCarthy, Matt Kiesau, Gordon Oakland, Lynn Sickels, Jeff Luzum, Kermit Oakland and Ken Kugel.

Lisa Annette Hageman was born on May 4, 1970 in Waukon, the daughter of Lloyd and Loretta (Martin) Oakland. She grew up in the Waukon area and graduated from Waukon High School in 1988. Following her graduation, she attended NICC in Calmar to study medical transcription.

March 25, 1996, Lisa was united in marriage to Duane Hageman. Lisa worked at the Cresco Medical Clinic and drove back and forth to her home on the farm northwest of Ossian. She stopped working to care for her sons. Lisa and Duane were later divorced and Lisa started working for Pinnacle Financial in Decorah and eventually moved to Castalia.

Lisa's highest priority in her life was her children. You could find her taking the boys fishing or on a street going for a bike ride. She never gave up her love for her boys. Lisa didn't have many hobbies, but would spend her time working or being with her family.

Lisa is survived by her ex-husband, Duane of Ossian, three sons: Devin Hermanson of Hopkington, Danon and Dawson Hageman, both of Ossian; her parents, Loretta Oakland (significant other) Dale Kiesau of Waukon and Lloyd Oakland (significant other) Pat Butikofer of Castalia; one sister, Lori Oakland of Des Moines; Dale Kiesau's son, Steve (Sue) Kiesau of LaCrosse, WI and Pat Butikofer's daughter, Heather (Chad) Coffin of Jesup; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Effie Martin, and her paternal grandparents: Harry and Myrtle Oakland.

CASTALIA WOMAN DIES IN HOUSE FIRE
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has identified the body of Lisa A. Hageman, 38, as the person found dead inside a burned home located at 115 Merrill Street in Castalia Wednesday, July 30. It has been reported that Hageman died of smoke inhalation. A cause of the fire, however, has not been determined. It is being investigated by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal. The blaze was fought by the Castalia and Ossian Fire Departments.

Funeral services for Hageman were held Monday, August 4 at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Ossian. Lisa Hageman was born May 4, 1970 the daughter of Lloyd and Loretta Martin Oakland. She grew up in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 1988. She is survived by her ex-husband, Duane; three sons, her parents, one sister, a step-brother and a step-sister.
