Emma Marie Ihde died Tuesday, February 15, 2000, at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was 89 years old.
Emma Marie was born on October 1, 1910 in Frankville Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, near Ossian. She was the daughter of Joseph and Dena (Teepe) Ihde. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia.
She attended the Frankville Township Country Schools and lived with her parents and brother and sister until her parents died in 1953. She then made her home with a brother, Alfred, and sister, Clara, on the family farm until the spring of 1976 when she and Alfred moved into Ossian. She was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Zion WELCA, a member of the Farm Bureau, and was a volunteer at the Winneshiek County R.S.V.P. Some of Emma's pastimes were sewing and quilting, listening to music, she loved to play cards, and clip and collect articles from the papers. Emma is best known for her sense of humor.
Emma is survived by one sister, Frieda Linderbaum and husband, Arthur, of Ossian, IA; a sister-in-law, Marie Ihde of West Union, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
