Mr. and Mrs. Chris Owen were the recipients of a pleasant surprise on their wedding anniversary Saturday when more than two hundred relatives and friends invaded their farm home a few miles north or Ridgeway. The well filled baskets provided a bounteous supper for all and the house were spent informally. Rev. Normann, of Cresco, made fitting remarks and presented Mr. and Mrs. Owen with a purse of more than $50 in silver. Mr. and Mrs. Owen were married twenty-five years ago by Rev. N. P. Xavier. Shortly after their marriage they went to live on the Heige Owen farm and later moved to a farm near Ridgeway, on which they had built, living there nine years. This spring they returned to the parental farm home of Mrs. Owen, at which place the gathering was held. Two sons were born to them—Joseph and Roy. That Mr. and Mrs. Owen will enjoy many more anniversaries is the wish of their numerous friends.
