HYMENEAL.
Last Wednesday evening Mr. Roy W. Relf and Miss Sadie Hoyt Hannah, one of the teachers in the Fifth ward school, went to Cresco and were united in marriage by Rev. F. C. Schaffer. Their intentions were disclosed to only one or two very intimate friends and it was not until Thursday morning that the news became generally known. That they had executed a complete surprise was generally conceded, but congratulations and good wishes were no less hearty on that account. The following notice of the wedding appeared in the Manchester Press of last Thursday. Manchester is the home of the bride and we are sure that her many acquaintances in Decorah will endorse the sentiment expressed by Brother Rann:
It will be with surprise, very generously mixed with pleasure, that the Manchester friends of Miss Sadie Hanna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hanna, who live north of the city, learn of her marriage. Miss Hanna, who has been teaching in the Fifth ward school in Decorah, did not reveal her plans to any of her intimates, if, indeed, they were perfected in advance. Last evening she and her fiancé, Mr. Roy W. Relf, a young jeweler of Decorah, slipped away to Cresco by auto and were quietly married, word of the event reaching here this morning. It is presumed that they will make their home in Decorah.
The Press joins most heartily in the good wishes that will be tendered Mrs. Relf. She is a girl of striking personally and much charm of manner, and her ability as a teacher is matched by her capability in domestic pursuits. We hope that she and her husband may be very happy together.Transcriber’s Note: The bride’s maiden name is spelled two different ways.
