HYMENEAL.
On Tuesday evening, July 29th, 1913, at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Katherine Hathaway, at Ridgeway, Ia., occurred the marriage of her daughter Nellie Mae to Mr. Chester Garfield Williams of Calvin, N. D.
In the presence of only immediate relatives, and with Miss Jessie C. Thompson of Fayette, a close friend of the bride, at the piano, Dr. Arthur E Bennett, of Upper Iowa University, united the lives of this estimable couple, the beautiful and impressing ring service of the M. E. church being used. The bride wore a gown of white embroidered voile and carried bride’s roses. Her traveling suit was of tan with accessories to match. The groom was neatly attired in a suit of blue serge. Immediately following the ceremony, the guests repaired to the dining room where an elegant three-course dinner was served by the Misses Schuetz and Griffith. The table was tastily decorated with smilax and pink and white carnations. The bride attended Upper Iowa University for three years and graduated from the Minneapolis School of Music, Oratory and Dramatic Art. Since her graduation she has been an instructor of oratory at Rock Rapids, Iowa. The groom was born and raised at Fayette where he received his education, graduating from Upper Iowa University with the class of ’07. Since his graduation he has been engaged in teaching and in the insurance business in North Dakota. They left on the evening train for a short trip and will return to visit their relatives before leaving for their new home at Calvin, N. D.
