At the home of the groom in the village of Hesper, Wednesday, Jan. 12, in the solemn hush of night, occurred the marriage of Mr. Robert McMillen to Miss Lizzie Robinson, Rev. H. C. Carter officiating. The wedding party consisted of Mrs. H. C. Carter and Mr. T. W. Bryant. The groom is a man some past 70 years of age, of a quiet, unassuming nature, respected by all who know him. The bride is also well known in Hesper having been in the Strong home for a number of years. Mrs. Strong will doubtless miss “Lizzie,” but think she will willingly give her up as it is quite evident that Mr. McMillan needs her worse to care for him in his declining years than does Mrs. Strong. Mr. McMillen at present is very poorly but it is sincerely hoped by all that he may regain his health and live to spend many happy years.
