On Wednesday evening of last week, at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. and Mrs. H. C. Carter, was solemnized the marriage of M. Lorena Carter and William L. Blatt, before a small company of relatives and friends. As the music of Wagner’s wedding march was played the bride and groom, preceded by Miss Lila bearing the ring, entered the room and took their places before the mass of richly colored oak leaves with which the room was decorated in honor of the German meaning of the new name soon to be taken. Then with a few simple but impressive words the father of the bride gave his only child into the care and keeping of the one from whom only death should part. The bride wore a beautiful semi-princess gown of cream silk and rich embroidery, but it could not enhance her own, winsome personality. During her six years spent in Hesper, two of them being in the public schools, Miss Carter had made a place in the hearts of the people which will always be hers. Mr. Blatt is from Los Angeles Cal., a fine type of wholesome manhood who has made friends of every acquaintance met during his short stay here. Mr. and Mrs. Blatt will be at home in Los Angeles after Dec. 1st. An hour after the ceremony a reception was held for the many friends who were desirous of bringing their good wishes. Numerous very beautiful present were received by the bride.
