On the evening of the 25th there was a quiet little wedding at the Friends parsonage at which the contracting parties were Miss Katie Richert, one of Hesper’s most esteemed young ladies, and Mr. E. J. Burnette, a successful business man of Oklahoma, Rev. H. C. Carter, officiated. Soon after the ceremony a comfortable houseful of their friends gave the bride and groom a surprise congratulation party and on the evening of the 26th another considerable party called at the home of the bride’s mother to offer congratulations and good wishes. This morning Mr. and Mrs. Burnette took the train at Decorah to go to Colorado, where they expect to make a home near Boulder.
