KILLED IN CHICAGO.
Olaf RIngoen of Ridgeway Mistaken for Burglar and Shot.
Early Tuesday morning Olaf Ringoen of Ridgeway was shot in a rooming house in Chicago. He was in the city with stock and he and a man named Bogman were assigned adjoining rooms at a place on Halsted street where stockmen put up. The reports indicate that RIngoen got into Bogman’s room by mistake and the latter, thinking him a burglar, shot him twice, one bullet entering his abdomen. Bogman was arrested and Ringoen was taken to a hospital where he died. Deceased was a brother of Cashier RIngoen of the Ridgeway Winneshiek Co. Bank and is survived by his wife, mother and several other brothers and sisters. He was a popular man among a large circle of acquaintances, who will sympathize deeply with his family.

Olaf Ringoen Not Dead
The Republican is glad to record that it was mistaken last week about the death of Olaf Ringoen of Ridgeway. Mr. Ringoen was shot, but he was able to return home the next day and has since been under treatment at Dr. Kessel’s hospital, where, by the use of X-Rays the bullet was located, and can probably be removed without danger to Mr. Ringoen.
