Our Washington Prairie correspondent this week records the marriage on Monday of Miss Julia Ruen and Peter Wigesland. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Ruen, well known residents of Washington Prairie, and is in every way an estimable young woman who enjoys the friendship of many, both in her home community and in Decorah where she has been a successful dress maker for a year or more. The groom is a young farmer living about four miles south of Decorah and is worthy of the trust that is placed in him by a wide circle of acquaintances.

On Monday noon occurred the marriage of Julia H. Ruen to Peter Wigesland at the Pontopidant church. Rev. Fjelde officiating. After the ceremony they retired to the home of the bride’s parents, where a large company of guests had gathered. The bride is one of our choicest young ladies. From a little girl she has grown up in our community honored by old and young alike. She has ever been a bright star in the home circle, and now she has gone to reign as a queen in her own home. The groom is almost a stranger to us, but, judging from what the bride is worthy of, he is a good and noble man. The love and esteem in which the worthy couple are held was shown by the numerous and beautiful presents. The many friends of the bride and groom wish them a long, pleasant and prosperous life.
