Wedding Bells.
No more joyous occasion has been celebrated in Decorah this summer than the marriage of Dr. W. F. Coleman and Miss Winnie Landers, at the Landers’ family home on Broadway last evening. A jolly company of nearly two score of friends were present to witness the ceremony. Shortly after 7:30 o'clock the strains of the wedding march gave warning of the approach of the bridal couple. From one door proceeded by her four little nieces came the bride, and as she stopped into the room the groom joined her and they proceeded to where Rev. D. L. Hilliard was awaiting them. The ceremony was very simple, though none the less impressive. The bride was attired in pink silk, and carried a bouquet of cream roses. After congratulations had been bestowed, the company sat down to a delicate wedding supper, and at 8:30 Mr. and Mrs. Coleman retired to prepare for their wedding journey, which includes a few days’ stay in Wisconsin, after which they go to Minneapolis and St. Paul for a two weeks’ visit with relatives.
It was a most happy wedding indeed, and why should it not be with everything to make it such? Both Dr. Coleman and his bride have lived from their childhood in Decorah, respected, esteemed and loved by an unusually large number of friends, and their union is a fitting one in every way. Life will have its sorrows and joys for them, but that the latter will out-number the former many, many times is the sincere wish of all who know them.Source: Decorah Republican Aug. 29, 1895 P 4 C 4
