Married Last Evening.
Miss Allie S. Burdick, daughter of Mr. C. W. Burdick, and Mr. W. H. Tillson, of Cresco, were married last evening at six o’clock, at the home of the bride’s father in West Decorah, Rev. F. F. Shaffer, officiating. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a company of two score or more of intimate friends and relatives. Miss Burdick, (or Allie as she is familiarly known by a large circle of acquaintances) has lived all her life in Decorah, and goes to grace a Cresco home, followed by the sincere good wishes of many friends. That she has chosen wisely, is shown by the following commendation, of the groom from the Cresco Republican.
Of the excellence of character and true worth of the groom, Mr. W. H. Tillson, our words could add nothing. He has spent nearly all the years of his life in and near Cresco, where his good qualities have ever been manifested. Mr. Tillson is a graduate of the Cresco high school and of the law department of the State University at Iowa City.
Speaking further of the wedding the same paper says:
After a season of visiting with friends in Chicago, and with relatives in Wisconsin, and at Decorah, Mr. and Mrs. Tillson will settle down to the real{i}ties of life in the J. B. Barber residence on North Elm street.
The house was beautifully decorated and the presents were many, choice and appropriate. The REPUBLICAN extends its heartiest congratulations.
