Married.
West Union Gazette:—Rev. W. D. Hartsough, of Cedar Rapids, now presiding elder of Toledo district, and Miss Ella Riggs, of Castalia, Io., were united in marriage at the bride’s parents, April 17th, Rev. E. Harper officiating. Rev. Hartsough is well known in our midst, this being his former home. We are glad that a man so strong in character and ministerial ability has gone out from our midst to make his mark in the world and the church of the United brethren in Christ. Miss Riggs is a lay of great force of character, a former student of Western College, and by culture well titled for a minister's wife. The ceremony was performed at mid-day in the presence of a few invited guests, Dr. Appleby and wife, of Bristow, being among the number. The presents were costly and beautiful, good taste being shown in their selection. The contracting parties departed the same evening for Cedar Rapids, where they will make their home.Source: Decorah Republican Apr. 25, 1895 P 4 C 3
Miss Ella Riggs and Rev. W. D. Hartsough were married at the bride’s parents at high noon, Wednesday, April 18th in the presence of the immediate friends of the contracting parties. The bride was born on the farm where she was married, and had made that her home all her life. Rev. Hart¬is at present presiding elder of the U. B. church and is well and favorably known in this place, having been stationed here several years as pastor. The bride and groom left on the B., C.
