A pleasant company of fifty relatives and friends witnessed the marriage, Wednesday, Oct. 28th, at 8 p. m. of Wm. L. Darling, one of our energetic young farmers, and Miss Cora Whitney at the bride’s home, Rev. J. Hilburn celebrant. At precisely the hour named the bridal party entered the room to the strains of a wedding march played by Mrs. Jessie Marsh, of Decorah. The ceremony was beautiful for its simplicity and performed in Mr. Hilburn’s impressive manner. The parlors were beautifully decorated, the contracting parties standing beneath a bell of evergreens and white chrysanthemums suspended from an arch of the same material. The bride was becomingly gowned in cream silk and carried a large bouquet of white roses. Following the customary congratulations a fine collation was served. The large number of presents received by the young people attested in a high degree to their popularity with their many friends who wish them a long and happy wedded life. The young couple left for Decorah where they took the train for a short wedding trip.
