DVORAK—NOVAK—In the Catholic church at Spillville. Iowa, by Rev. Francis Chmelar, June 1st, 1897,Mr. John A. Dvorak and Miss Stella Novak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Novak.
The marriage ceremony, as rendered by Rev. Chmelar, was very impressive, interspersed as it was, with the ritual of the church and responsive recitals by the congregation as well as by the candidates for matrimony After the nuptial knot was tied those present repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where an ample repast was spread to which full justice was done by the guests and friends of the family and of the bride and groom. The immediate attendants upon the bride and groom during the marriage ceremony were Mr. Bohamil Bouska and Miss Lucy Novak. Mr. William F, Novak and Miss Anna Dvorak. The wedding presents were numerous, rich and valuable, showing the esteem in which the bride and groom are held among their friends.
The groom is a prosperous merchant at Conover, Iowa, where they will make their home after they return from Dubuque, where they went the same afternoon for a few days’ visit among their friends. May it be a pleasant and happy home with a full fruition of the hopes, the joys and pleasures this couple are looking forward to with such bright anticipation.
