HAPPILY WEDDED.
The Reichmann-Dent Nuptials Duly Celebrated.
The most delightful society event of this year was the marriage of Miss Edith Cheever Dent and Mr. Alexander Frederick Reichmann, which took place at Grace church on Thursday evening last. Although but recent comers to Decorah the family of the bride has formed many acquaintances who were exceedingly pleased to unite in making the function as charmingly happy as the typical wedding should be.
Dr. S. R. J. Hoyt, the venerable arch deacon of the diocese of Iowa, was present as the officiating clergyman, and the ushers wore Mr. L. T. Cumberbatch of LeMars, Mr. Charles Duff Scott of Toronto, and Mr. Robert Simpson of Decorah. The bridal party entered the church directly after 7:30 o’clock, the bride leaning upon the arm of her father, and attended, by her sister Mrs. Scott, of Toronto, as maid of honor, and Miss Reichmann, of LeMars, as bridesmaids, with little Miss Isabell Romanes of Chicago, as flower girl, and Master Mortimer Reichmann, youngest brother of the groom, as page. The bride was dressed in white satin, with pearls and chiffon, veil and orange blossoms, carrying a bouquet of margarites and ferns. The maids were also in white satin and carried La France roses. Miss Romanes wore white lace over white silk. The cortege moved up the center aisle of the church to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin, rendered on the organ by Miss Treat, accompanied on the violin by Prof. Haldor Hanson. The bride was met at the altar by the groom, who was accompanied by Mr. Edward H. Dalton, of Le Mars, as his best man, and the beautiful ceremony of the church was entered upon. During it Mrs. Scott sang very beautifully "Calm is the Night.” The altar had been most elaborately decorated with flowers, and was literally a bower of beauty.
Those whose futures were so charmingly united have been acquaintances from childhood, and all the associations of their lives unite in the promise that it is a union which betokens more than ordinary happiness. So may it be.
A reception followed, at the home of the bride’s parents, Hon. and Mrs. William Hamilton Dent, in the Easton place, 405 west Main street. A house-full of guests cooperated to make the occasion an exceedingly pleasant affair. .After a wedding supper had been partaken of Mr. and Mrs. Reichmann bade their friends good bye and took the evening train for their future homo in Chicago. The guests tarried and participated in an elegant repast, as well as “chased the hours with flying feet,” to music rendered by Marsh’s orchestra.
The guests present from abroad wore-
Mrs. Cheever, of Hamilton, Ont., grandmother of the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duff Scott, of Toronto.
Mrs. P. E. Romanes and daughter, of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Reichmann, Miss Reichmann, and Mast. Mortimer Reichmann, of LeMars.
F. J. Reichmann and wife, of Chicago.
Messrs. Edward H. Dalton, L. T. Cumberbatch and G. C. Maclagan, of LeMars.
The presents were numerous and more than usually choice and elegant.
