Mr. Charles E Buckman, of Riceville, and Miss Hattie Bates, of Postville, were married at the residence of Mrs. Hanks in Postville Tuesday, July 12th, at two o’clock p. m. Both the contracting parties are well and favorably known in this community, Miss Bates having taught in our schools and while here won the respect and admiration of a large circle of friends. Mr. Bucknam has lived among us the most of his life and recently moved to Riceville to engage in the hardware business. They left over the B. C. R. & N. to attend the Exposition at Omaha, after which they will return and visit among friends here a short time and will be “at home” in Riceville after July 20th. May their lives always be a happy one.
