HYMENEAL.
TORMEY—AYE.
Last evening at the Unity church, Miss Henrietta Aye, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Aye, was united in marriage to Prof. James A. Tormey, of Winona, Minn., Rev. A.G. Wilson, of Janesville, Wis., officiating. The church was beautifully décor{a}ted in honor of the event, which was witnessed by as many persons as could crowd into the building. Mrs. Jessie Marsh presided at the organ. Promptly at the hour of seven o’clock, the strains of the Mendelssohn wedding march were heard and the bride’s attendants entered the church. Little Misses Milla and Martha Anundsen officiated as flower girls, advancing at the head of the party. They were followed by the bride’s maids. Miss Buisson, of Wabasha, Miss Tormey, of Richland Center, Miss Klein, of Preston, Misses Ida Reum, Tillie Asselu and Helena Nolte of this city. Miss Harris, of Faribault, was maid of honor and immediately preceded the bride. Miss Aye was attired in a gown of white mull, Miss Harris in pink organdie and the maids in white. The ushers— Messrs. Martin Soukup, Fred Reum, C. S. McKay, K. A. Waterbury, Edward Bear and Wm. Schulze came last and joined in forming a circle at the altar where the bride was met by the groom, the groomsman, Dr. Gallagher, of Winona, and Rev. A. G. Wilson. Immediately following the ceremony the wedding party drove to the home of the bride’s mother where a few invited guests joined in extending congratulations and good wishes.
Miss Aye is one of Decorah’s fairest daughters. Possessed of a very sweet voice she was encouraged to pursue the study of music and was rewarded by securing a place as instructress in vocal work in the school at Wabasha. Previous to that she had been a teacher in one of the grade rooms of the Decorah Public Schools. Her bright, cheerful disposition has won her friends on every hand who hope her days will be happy ones. Prof. Tormey is superintendent of the schools of Winona, a fact in itself denoting him as a man of educational attainment and says all that need be said as to personal character and worth.
Prof. and Mrs. Tormey departed on the evening train for their wedding trip after which they will proceed to Winona.
