MARRIED.
Wednesday evening, April 26, l899 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Burt, Hesper, Iowa, their daughter, Laura, was united in marriage to Mr. Amos Robinson, of Rochester, Minnesota. The long parlor was filled with guests when the bride and groom entered and took their place in front of a mass of flowers and palms. The bride was lovely in silk with white roses and the groom looked like one who realized he had drawn a prize. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Slack of the Friends’ church. Relatives and friends pressed forward with kind wishes and congratulations. More substantial expressions of their good will were given in nice furniture, silver, china and other beautiful presents. A handsome berry spoon was given by the W. C. T. U. in which the bride is a loyal worker. A bountiful repast was served on tables decorated with smilax and hepaticas. Guests from a distance were the groom's mother from Rochester, Mrs. Caroline Miles, from Canton, Mrs. E. Aiken and Miss Aiken, of Decorah and H. H. Worth, of La Crosse. The bride has grown up among us and the best wishes of the whole community are here along her new pathway. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson will remain in Hesper.
