The Gager-Gill Wedding.
Cresco Republican:—The home of Mr. and Mrs. G. S Gill, just east of town, was on last Wednesday afternoon the scene of a most pleasant and interesting transaction, being the marriage of their daughter, Miss Helen, to Mr. Wesley Gager, of Orleans township, Winneshiek Co. The spacious rooms of their home were filled with invited guests, most of whom have known those young people from childhood.
At one o’clock to the sweet strains of a wedding march the bridal party entered the front parlor, the room having been handsomely decorated with plants and flowers for the occasion. Rev O. H. Holmes pronounced the solemn ceremony that unites those two hearts and lives in the relation of husband and wife. The young couple looked well and happy and we have no doubt they enter upon this new pathway of life with bright anticipations, all of which the Republican earnestly hopes they may relize{sp} in full measure.
After sincere and hearty congratulations had been offered, delicious refreshments were served, and the afternoon hours passed all too rapidly away in social conversation and enjoyment.
Mr. Gager is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Gager. He is an active and upright young man, respected by all his friends. Miss Gill is an accomplished young lady who has many friends in Howard and Winneshiek counties. They were remembered by a large number of beautiful and useful presents. They will make their home on Mr. Gager’s farm in Orleans Twp.
