Reque-Kalvestrand.
Mr. Siguard Reque and Miss Carolyn Kalveatrand were married at Hope church, St. Paul, on Tuesday evening, June 17, 1913. The wedding ceremony was performed by Prof. O. E. Brandt. Mr. and Mrs. Reque are new at Little Falls, Minn., where Mr. Reque will manage a base ball team during the summer months.
The bride is a young lady of attractive womanly graces and accomplishments. During a number of years past she has been employed in the circulation department of Decorah Posten and later in the county superintendent’s office, The groom is as popular a young man as ever lived in the country, He demonstrated the fact in 1908 when he was elected county superintendent by 1,401 majority, being the first Democrat elected to a county office in 17 years. Two years later he was re-elected without opposition. Since his service as county superintendent he has been taking post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota, adding special training to his previous practical experience in preparation for his life work of teaching. He is possessed of the qualities of heart and head that win respect and esteem wherever he goes. May happiness and prosperity be the lot of Mr. and Mrs. Reque through a long married life.— Decorah Journal.
