Charming Wedding.
The following report comes to us in the Wagoner (Ind. Territory) Daily Sayings of June 6th, and will greatly interest the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ab. Lincoln:—
A simple yet elegant wedding was that which took place Monday afternoon at Central College when Miss Alberta, the charming daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln, was united in marriage to Prof. Charles Ernest Appy. The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. L. Massey, of the M. E. Church (South), in the library of Central Hall, which was tastefully decorated with the flowers which the bride loved best. Promptly at 4 o’clock she entered the library. Never did she look so lovely as regally she bore herself in her dainty bridal robes of simple white, which were the gift of loving hands and hearts in the far North. She wore no ornament but a pink tea-rose in her soft hair, which heightened the blush in the fair young face. With her usual elegance and composure of manner she made the solemn vows which the service called for.
Beloved socially by a large circle of friends, it is pleasing to know that her greatest charm is the bright light of love which her young life has thrown upon the home. They love her most who know her best.
The groom is the third son of the late Prof. Charles Ernest Appy, of Amesterdam,{sic} and is well known in musical circles in Kansas City and elsewhere in this country. He has endeared himself to this community by his rare musical ability, by his genial, kindly courtesy of manner, of sterling principle, as well as by his successful teaching of the children who have come under his instruction.
The future home of the happy people will be in Carthage, Mo., where the groom’s mother resides and where a pleasant home awaits them. We wish them every happiness.
Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln deeply regret their inability to have had their many friends of Wagoner present with them to join in an occasion of so much interest and moment to them.
