At eight o’clock at the Presbyterian church last Wednesday evening, April 25th, 1900, the organ, which was played by Grace Gregg, pealed the wedding march ushering in the wedding party which consisted of four persons, viz; August Renne and his brother, Paul Renne, the groom and best man, who marched up the isle on the left, while Hattie McIntire and Edna Letchford, the bride and her maid, came up the other aisle and met in front of the altar where Rev. Gregg, assisted by Rev. Chamberlin, pronounced the ceremony that made them one. The ceremony was very impressive and was witnessed by a large audience. After the marriage the Christian Endeavor was held and then congratulations were in order. A reception was held at the home of the bride the same evening, only immediate friends being present. The groom is a young man of good habits, has been brought up on his father’s farm about six miles north of Frankville, and has many friends. The bride, the oldest daughter of James and Jennie McIntire, was born and raised in our community and is known by all and has a host of friends who wish these young people a long and happy life. The bride and her maid were both dressed in white mull while the gentlemen were clothed in black. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers and a large floral horseshoe for good luck was suspended over the heads of the happy pair. They commenced keeping house the next day at their home on the farm which has always been a home to ’Gus, and where they will entertain their friends hereafter.
