Married out in the Black Hills.
The Daily Pioneer Times of Lead, S. D., of January 11th, brings us the following pleasant intelligence as to a Decorah lady whom many friends will hope this new relation will prove one of unalloyed happiness.
At the Episcopal rectory, yesterday afternoon, William J. Clark and Mrs. Helen Merrill were united in the sacred bonds of matrimony by Archdeacon Geo. G. Ware.
The wedding was conspicuously a quiet affair. Mrs. Merrill arrived on the noon Elkhorn passenger from her home at Decorah, Iowa, and was met by Mr. Clark at the depot in Deadwood and they were immediately driven to the rectory where the ceremonies were performed, after which the newly wedded couple were driven to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jero Fincher in South Lead, where a reception in their honor was held in the evening, and was attended by the invited friends of the happy couple.
Mr. Clark has been a resident of Lead for many years, and was formerly employed at the brick store, resigning there and entering into business in partnership with William Lyon, under the firm name of Clark & Lyon, with which firm he is still a member, and one of the merchants of our city.
Of the bride we can say that she is a lady of refinement and pleasing personality and enjoys a large circle of friends in Lead. She was also employed at the Brick Store as one of the millininery{sic} corps, at which time the acquaintance between the two was made and continued until it ripened into love and marriage. Mrs. Merrill was also head milliner for some time at Monholm's store, up to about two years ago, when she left for her home.
The groom has furnished a pleasant home for the reception of his bride, in the southwest portion of Lead, and they will be at home to their friends in the future.
