Gardner-Whalen.
This morning at nine o’clock Rev. Fr. Fitzgerald united in marriage two of the estimable young people of the north part of the county—Rupert Gardner of Bluffton twp., and Miss Gene¬vieve Whalen of Freemont twp. The ceremony was performed in St. Bridget's Catholic church.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Gardner of Bluffton twp., and is a young man of industry, good habits, and pleasant address. His bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whalen of Freemont twp., is possessed of the disposition and accomplishments calculated to make him an excellent life companion.
Mr. and Mrs. Gardner will make their home on the groom's farm in Bluffton twp. A large number of friends extend congratulations and best wishes.—Decorah Journal.
