Their Golden Anniversary.
Mabel Tribune:—The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Thomes was celebrated at the home of their son George on Monday, the 18th of November. Fifty years ago Elihu Thomes and Frances Taylor were married at Chester, Mass. To them were born two children, the daughter is Mrs. Willis Bacon.
Between thirty and forty guests assembled and social intercourse in which old time memories were recalled occupied the time. A bountiful dinner was served after which Rev. Frank Seeds, on behalf of the friends, presented Mr. and Mrs. Thomes with ten gold dollars, and wished for them many other anniversaries. Mr. Thomes responded, expressing his appreciation of old friends and the hope of another meeting where there is no parting
