Small Pox Among the Winnebagoes.
Lansing Mirror—The small pox epidemic is rapidly spreading among the Winnebago tribe of Indians, which is scattered all along the river and as far north as Black River Falls, and it is stated that if something is not done to stamp out the disease, half of the remainder of the famous tribe will be wiped out in a short time. This is the second time the sickness has appeared among the tribe this year and their mode of living makes it almost impossible to beep{sic} the disease from spreading.
