The Decorah Republican gives an account of two women almost killed by abortion in that city. Dr. Small, of Ossian, is charged with the deed. The women are Miss Mary Gjetle and Mrs. George Krum; they are now lying at the point of death, but hopes are entertained of Mary’s recovery. Dr. Small has been arrested, and his trial postponed until after the recovery or death of the women. If death ensues, and Small is found guilty he will probably study geology in the stone quarries of the penitentiary for the next ten years. Such a life. Abortion and charges of adultery are the principal topics of our newspapers in this glorious nineteenth century.
