BLACKMAN-DORN—One of the prettiest home weddings Ridgeway has ever witnessed occurred last week Wednesday evening, the 2d, at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Susan Dorn, when her youngest daughter, Mabel, was united in marriage to Dr. Earnest Blackman of Triumph, Minn. As the guests arrived they were greeted by the bride and groom elect, and a short time was spent in conversation. The rooms were simply but very tastefully decorated, ferns and carnations being used. In the parlor was a bank of ferns reaching nearly to the ceiling. Over the dining table were suspended white ribbons wound with ferns and reaching from the ceiling to the corners of the table. Here lemonade was served from a huge punch bowl, and near by on a smaller table was a guest book in which guests were requested to write their names, forming a pretty souvenir for the bride. Promptly at eight o'clock, as Casper Aaker played the wedding march, the bride and groom took their places in front of the bank of ferns and Dr. T. E. Fleming, brother-in-law of the bride, pronounced the solemn words that made them one. Music soft and sweet filled the rooms during the ceremony and congratulations. After serenade by the Ridgeway band the company were invited to the church parlors where the guests were served to a very dainty two-course supper by the Ladles Aid Society. About midnight the company dispersed, all voting it had been a most delightful wedding. The bride received many beautiful presents, both useful and ornamental, such as go to make up a pleasant home. Mabel has all her life lived in Ridgeway. She is possessed of a sunny, disposition that has made for her a host of friends wherever she has been. To say that Ridgeway will miss her is speaking very lightly as we hardly know what we will do without her. The groom is an energetic young doctor of Triumph. Minn., and is in every way worthy the bride he has won. May the choicest of this world’s blessings attend them in their wedded life is the wish of their many Ridgeway friends.
