Married in St. Paul.
The following item was clipped from the St. Paul Dispatch of the 1st inst:— Miss Gulberg V. Saxe and Rev. Hans A. Stub, Jr., were married last evening at Our Savior’s church. Prof. H. G. Stub, of Luther seminary, father of the bridegroom, read the service. The wedding was of more than ordinary interest. The groom, who is a son and grandson of well known Lutheran ministers, graduated a fortnight ago from Luther seminary as valedictorian of his class, and last Sunday was ordained at Our Savior’s church to the ministry, his father and grandfather taking part in the ceremony. For the marriage Prof. Gunnerson played the organ and the attendants were Miss Lydia Saxe, maid of honor; the Misses Marguerite Gran, Stella Sethney, Cora Halverson, Edna Simonson, Dikka Bergh and Sylvia Torgenson, bridesmaids; Messrs. Barry Saxe, Henry Olson, Ivor Siverson, John {?}huev, Ingolf Stub and John Siverson ushers; Mr. Norman, best man preceding the bride, who walked with her father. H. G. Saxe, was the bride’s little brother, dressed in white broadcloth. The service was followed by a wedding dinner at Oulie’s hotel After a short trip Rev. and Mrs. Stub will go to Seattle, Wash., where Mr. Stub will have charge of the Immanuel Norwegian Lutheran church.
Mr. Stub was a visitor in Decorah during Synod week, but at that time no announcement of his approaching marriage was made publicly. As a lad he attended public school and Luther College, and exhibited qualities that marked him as a worthy descendant of his venerable grandfather and accomplished father. His old friends will be pleased to learn that he has begun his life work under circumstances that are so auspicious and creditable.
