Tuesday morning at the Catholic parsonage in this city, Edward J. Powers, son of Thomas Powers, and Miss Ida A. Halvorsen were united in marriage by Rev, Father Hawe. The ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast at the home of the groom after which they departed on a wedding trip which will include Mason City, St, James, Minn., and other points. Mr. Powers has been identified in a business way with various interests in Decorah for several years and at present is proprietor of the Palace pool and lunch room. In his associations he has gained a wide acquaintance and the good wishes of a host of friends go out to him as he enters upon married life. His bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Halvorsen of Mabel but not altogether a stranger here as she resided in the city for some time a couple of years ago and has many friends who are glad to have her return to dwell among them.
