Married Last Evening.
Last evening at 5:30 o’clock at the family residence on East Broadway Miss Clara Louise Morss and Mr. Charles Newell Houck were united in marriage by Dr. M. Willett. The decorations for the occasion were very elaborate and handsomely worked out in pink, green and white. In the window where the bridal couple stood, palms and ferns were banked. Under a canopy of arbor vitae hung a wedding bell of smilax and pink roses, and the fire place was banked with flowers. The bride’s table was in the form of a cross and here the general color scheme was carried out most effectively. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Stella Paine and the groom by Mr. Burton B. Morss. Four flower girls completed the bridal party. The bride was attired in a gown of white pressed liberty felt and carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley with orange blossoms in her hair. Miss Paine wore a gown of pink crepe de chien and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Following the ceremony the wedding supper was served and Mr. and Mrs. Houck departed on the 8:45 train for their wedding journey. Guests to the number of eighty, were present to participate in this event.
Mr. and Mrs. Houck have a large number of friends in Decorah by reason of long residence here and attractive personal qualities. They start upon life’s journey together with the heartiest of congratulations and sincerest wishes for a long and happy life.
