A Pretty Wedding.
Last Wednesday at St. Aloyius{sic} church in this city, a ceremony was performed that united in holy wedlock Miss Catherine Steffes, of this city, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Steffes, an estimable young lady, and Lawrence Ferrie, whose home was formerly at Cresco, the marriage ceremony being performed by Rev. Ryan.
The bride looked very nice indeed, attired in a lovely hand embroidered white silk, and the customary bridal veil, with a beautiful white rose adorning her hair.
The groom also made a very nice appearance, and was attired in the usual conventional black dress suit, and wearing a white rose on the lapel of his coat.
Joseph Steffes, the bride’s brother, was best man, and the groom’s sister, Miss Edith Ferrie, was bridesmaid.
Two little nieces of the bride, Ambrosa and Catherine Constantine acted as flower girls.
After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, |at which only relatives and a very few dear friends were present. In the evening the brass band gave them a serenade.
The newly married couple will go to Cresco and Sioux City and then to their future home near Verndale, Wadena County, Minnesota, where the groom has a good farm.
We join their many friends in wishing them much joy and prosperity.— Calmar Courier.
