The Hogle-Holton Wedding.
The following account of the wedding of William M. Hogle of Decorah and Miss Ethel Holton of Toledo, Ohio, is clipped from the Toledo Blade of the 6th inst.:—
The chancel of Old Trinity was beautified with stately palms for the nuptials last evening of Miss Ethel Willson Holton and Mr. William Manville Hogle, of Decorah, Iowa.
Rev. L. P. MacDonald, the bride’s pastor, read the service at eight o’clock, Trinity’s rector, Rev, A. Leffingwell, being present in the sanctuary. After a pleasing organ program by Mr. John Richardson, the full vester choir, in their usual processional march, sang the Lohengrin bridal chorus, “Faithful and True,” and the ushers, Mr. Fred Pepper and Mr. Sol Tucker, Mr. Howard Brodhead and Mr. Herbert Cutting, marched two by two down the aisle, followed by the maid-of-honor, Miss Helen Irvine, of New York,
The bride entered with her father, Dr. C. H. Strong. She was charming in a white satin messaline with collar of Duchesse lace. White rosebuds fastened her long veil, and she carried white roses tied with wide satin ribbons. The groom was attended by Mr. Newell Barnard, of Saginaw, Mich.
About sixty guests, whose seats were marked in the church with handsome clusters of pink dahlias and gladioluses had been invited verbally to the informal reception at the apartments of the bride’s parents in the Vendome.
Palms and smilax made a pretty decoration for the parlor, and the color scheme throughout the apartments was green and white. Dr. and Mrs. Strong and Mrs. J F. Hogle, the groom’s mother, of Decorah, Iowa, assisted in receiving the guests.
In the adjoining apartments of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mettler, a wedding supper was served at small tables.
The bridal table was handsomely adorned in green and white, with a centerpiece of white roses surrounded by while shaded candles. The favors were white wedding slippers filled with rice and rosebuds.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogle left last night for parts unknown, the bride traveling in a handsome brown tailored suit with velvet trimmings. They will make their home in Detriot.{sic} Mr. Hogle's business location having been very recently changed.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mrs. J. F. Hogle, of Decorah, Iowa; Mrs. Joel Holton and Mrs. F. J Meade, of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Lannin, of Rochester, N. Y, and Mr. Barnard, of Saginaw.
