Two Golden Anniversaries.
On Saturday last Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Garden of Springfield township celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding. A large gathering of friends and neighbors made the occasion a memorable one in every respect.
On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. David N. Hovt of Decorah enjoyed a like celebration. Mr. Hoyt’s health would not permit of a general family gathering, but the sons and daughters remembered the occasion by each sending their parents a $10 gold piece. Both Mr. and Mrs. Garden and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt are among the old residents of Winneshiek county, people who are highly respected and for whom a wealth of good feeling and best wishes fittingly crown their golden anniversaries.
