A Wedding in Which a Decorah Boy was the Bridegroom.
Alexandria, S. D., Herald:—
A pleasant home wedding occurred at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Vickers last Thursday evening, when their daughter. Mary E., was united in marriage to Frank Hull of this city.
The rooms were beautifully decorated with roses, carnations and smilax, a large arch of the same flowers forming an ideal bower in winch to tie the nuptial knot. Invited guests to the number of seventy-five assembled to do honor to the occasion, and at the appointed hour as the soft strains of the wedding march skilfully{sp} executed by Mrs. Thomas Vickers of Mitchell, stole gently through the rooms, the brideal{sp} party appeared and took their places in front of the floral arch, where Rev Lyman in the impressive manner performed the ceremony which linked for all time the destinies of the young people. The bride and groom were attended by Josie Hull and Dick Vickers, and Sadie and Joe Vickers, while Harriet Peckham and Fannie Foote were very dainty little flower girls.
After the congratulations, which were hearty and sincere, the guests were served with an elaborate supper, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The bride is one of Hanson county’s daughters, having grown to womanhood in our midst, and possessing the esteem and friendship of all who enjoy her acquaintance. She has been a very successful teacher for several years past, and her loss in educational circles will be keenly felt.
The groom came to Alexandria from Decorah, Iowa, about ten years ago, and has made many warm friends during his residence here, being known as an industrious and upright young man, and who amply deserves his good fortune in winning so estimable a bride.
Out of the town guests present at the wedding were Mrs. Hull, Miss Josie Hull, Decorah, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Graf, Calmar, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Holton, Edgerton, Wis.
