A very pretty wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Hunter Wednesday, Feb. 10th, on which occasion their daughter Edith M. was united in marriage to John L. Windell. Rev. Lehman of Calmar performed the ceremony in the presence of about fifty invited guests. A beautiful evergreen arch had been built in one corner of the parlor and under this arch the happy couple stood while being pronounced husband and wife. After the ceremony the guests were escorted to the dining room where a most bountiful repast was spread. The presents were many and beautiful and are highly prized by the recipients. One present is especially prized, not so much for its intrinsic worth or value, but because of its history. It was a fine linen bureau spread which was spun from the raw flax, woven into cloth many years ago and beautifully hem stitched by the bride’s aged grandmother only a few weeks ago. After visiting among friends here for a few days Mr. and Mrs. Windell will leave for their home in Seattle, Wash., where Mr. Windell has a lucrative position in a wholesale house. May they be happy in their new home and surroundings is the wish of a large circle of friends.
