Rev. Ove J. H. Preus Ordained
At the First Lutheran church last Sunday morning Ove J. H. Preus, eldest son of Rev. and Mrs. C. K. Preus, was ordained to the Lutheran ministry. The ordination service was conducted by Right Rev. V. Koren, foreman of the Synod, assited{sic} by Rev. I. B Torrison, C. K. Preus, Carlo A. Sperati and J. Ordal of Decorah and Rev. D. Kvasse of Menomonee, Wis. On Monday net Rev. Preus and Rev. Sperati will leave for Tacoma, Wash., where the former will take up his first pastoral work, filling the vacancy caused by Rev. Sperati’s resignation to become director of music at Luther College. If the good wishes of a host of friends are to be counted in the balances then will the life work of this young clergyman be one of success and glorification to christianity. He is gifted, not alone with the educational qualifications that make for success, but with personal upright, manly character that wins friends and confidence and retains them.
