On the 28th about a half-hundred of their relatives and friends repaired to the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Griswold and gave them a surprise dinner party as a reminder that they had been traveling life’s journey together for a period of twenty-five years. “Hoosierdom” was well represented, and there being “right smart” of Methodists in the company a song service was in order. And, too, a Quaker fiddle was found and in the hands of H. H. Hiatt, and with Mrs. D. A. Haines as organist music was brought forth, some of which almost caused some of the company to indulge in the “light fantastic.” One pleasant feature was the presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Griswold by Rev. H. C. Carter, on behalf of the company, of several silver dollars as a memento of the occasion.
