Yesterday morning at,the home of the bride’s parents on Franklin street occurred the marriage of Miss Grace Putnam, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Putnam, to Mr. L. H. Shaler of Chelsea, Iowa; Rev. H. H. Green officiating.
Promptly at eleven o’clock as the wedding march was being played, the bride and groom, with Miss Shaler, sister of the bridegroom as bridesmaid, and Mr. Bert Morrison as best man, took their places before a lovely bank of plants and flowers where Rev. Green spoke the words that made them man and wife. The bride was dressed in a beautiful cream colored gown and the groom in the conventional black.
Mrs. Shaler needs no introduction to the people of Decorah as she has lived here nearly all her life, during which time she has made many friends. She is an estimable young lady and all of her friends join in wishing her every success in life. Mr. Shaler is a young man highly respected in the community where he has lived all of his life.
The young couple departed on the 11:45, train for a short wedding tour after which they, will go to their new home at Chelsea. May prosperity and happiness attend them.
