A Double Wedding.
One of the most beautiful cerremonies{sic} recently conducted in this vicinity was the double wedding in the household of Mrs. Minnie Todd, residing northeast of Kendallville. The two oldest daughters, Miss Evangeline and Miss Josephine, were married to Mr. H. P. Stone and Mr. Amos G. Elliott, both of that neighborhood on Wednesday evening of this week, the 25th.
About 125 invitations had been issued and over 100 were present at the wedding. Relatives were present from South Dakota and guests came from Cresco and Decorah and the immediate neighborhood.
The house was beautifully decorated with ferns and asters and the corner where the ceremony was performed was transformed into a bower of beauty. Promptly at 8 o'clock, the bridal procession moved to their places to the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march. Rev. Herbert J. Hinman, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Cresco, performed the ceremony. The two brides were elegantly gowned in white while the grooms wore the conventional black.
After the completion of the ceremony, an elaborate luncheon was served to the guests and a period of informal visiting followed.
The wedding presents, consisting of silver, china, cut glass and furniture, were numerous and elegant. Mr. Stone and Mr. Elliott and their brides expect to live near the old homestead, and the best wishes of the whole community will be with them in their married life. The PLAIN DEALER joins in congratulations.
