Bride of George Backes, Tuesday
Ceremony Is Performed At Fort Atkinson By Father Dostal.
Miss Viola Kurash, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Kurash of Fort Atkinson became the bride of George Backes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Backes of St. Lucas at a pretty wedding Tuesday, October 6th in St. John’s Church.
Rev. Father Dostal performed the ceremony in presence of many friends and relatives.
Flower carriers little Stanley Kurash and Delores Barta lead the bridal party to the altar and their places, as the organist Venerable Sister M. Avertine played the wedding march. They were attended by four couples: Florence Backes, Angela Kurash, Marcella Kurash, Anna Backes and Richard Kurash, Raymond Lukesh, William Backes, William Backes and Raymond Fisher.
After the church ceremony the bridal party motored to the home of the bride’s parents, where a reception for 20 guests was held. Their home was decorated with season flowers and bridal colors, white, blue, green, yellow, and pink.
In the evening they gave a free dance at the Spillville Inwood to their relatives and many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Backes will make their future home at St. Lucas. Their host of friends wish Mr. and Mrs. Backes a long and happy married life.
