Winneshiek Couple Is Married In Minnesota
Caroline Schissel Becomes Bride of Joseph Lechtenberg Oct. 22 At Rochester, Minnesota
Wednesday, October 22, 1930, in St. John’s Catholic church at Rochester, Minn., occurred the marriage of Miss Caroline Schissel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schissel, of Ossian, to Mr. Joseph Lechtenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lechtenberg, of Festina. Rev. Father Hodapp performing the ceremony during the nuptial Mass. Their attendants were Miss Florence Smith and Mr. Andrew Koperski of Rochester, friends of the bride.
The bride wore a white satin and lace dress and a cap shaped veil held in place with a band of orange blossoms and lilies of the valley. The shower bouquet was of bride’s roses and ferns. She also wore a necklace, the gift of the groom. The bridesmaid was gowned in a flowered taffeta dress with accessories to match. Her bouquet was of pink roses. The groom and his attendant wore dark blue suits.
They arrived home the latter part of the week after a motor trip to the Twin Cities and other Minnesota points. A new home has recently been erected on part of the groom’s father’s farm where they will begin housekeeping and farm-{sic} in the near future.
