Sandra R. Meade, 73, of Forest City, died on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the Lake Mills Care Center.

Sandra Rae McEnelly, a daughter of Norman D. and Marion D. (Lewis) McEnelly was born in Hanlontown, Iowa, on December 15, 1941. She received her education in Mason City and Forest City schools. In addition, she attended NIACC and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Sandra married Earl Skjeie in 1959, and to this union, three children were born, a son, Terry, and two daughters, Mari Jo and Kari Sue Skjeie. She, later, divorced Earl, and in 1980, she moved to Texas where she worked at various nursing jobs for many years. In 1987, she married Don Meade of Dayton, Texas. They made their home in Dayton until 1998 when they moved to Forest City. Eventually, their union, also, ended in divorce.

Sandy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and for thirty-five years, of the 12-step Support Group. This support group meant everything to her. Moreover, she loved quilting, both by hand and by machine. She donated many of her creations to charity. She, also, enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. Above all, however, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sandy is survived by her son, Terry (Mardi) Skjeie, of Burnsville, Minnesota; her daughters, Mari Jo Mitchell, of Tomah, Wisconsin, and Kari Sue (Brian) Johnson, of Wanamingo, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Terry Skjeie, Jr., of Ferguson, Missouri, Hayley, of South Carolina, John (Ashley) Mitchell, of Washington (currently serving in the U.S. Navy), and Kendall and Kelley Johnson, of Wanamingo, Minnesota; her great granddaughter, Emily Mitchell, of Washington; and her great-grandson, John Ross, of Chesnee, South Carolina; her brother, Gary (Dona) McEnelly, of Baxter, Minnesota; and her sister, Kathy Olson, of Forest City; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Pat McEnelly, of Waconia, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City. Burial will follow in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. Memorials may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
