Karen Ann Geddes
August 2, 1938 - September 28, 2015

Karen Ann Geddes, 77, formerly of Forest City, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Las Vegas Solari Hospice Care Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Karen Geddes, a daughter of LeRoy and Helena (Austin) Zuehl, was born on August 2, 1938, in Britt, Iowa. She graduated from Britt High School in 1956. On Feb 1st, 1958, she married Dean Geddes at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City, Iowa. They lived in Florida, Alaska, Iowa, Arizona, and Nevada.

Karen loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. For thirty-five years, she worked as a beautician, a job she very much enjoyed. In addition, she liked playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and watching her favorite soaps. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Karen is survived by two children, Greg (Debbie) Geddes, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Dawn (Muzi) Naim, of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Quinten Geddes, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Christian Geddes, of Rochester, Minnesota, Alex Geddes, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Isabella Naim, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alisha (Jacob) Andring, of Pasco, Washington, Amanda Geddes, of Kennewick, Washington, Steven (JaVonna) Geddes, of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and Adam Geddes, of Kennewick, Washington; four great-grandchildren, Kaya Miller, of Kennewick, Washington, Jesse Andring, of Pasco, Washington, Mason VanHeel, of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and Steven Geddes, also of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; two brothers, Denny Zuehl, of Britt, Iowa, and Dick (Ruth) Zuehl, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a sister, Patty (Roger) Smith, of Perry, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Susan Geddes, of Kennewick, Washington; and a sister-in-law, Maryrose Harrington, of Apache Junction, Arizona; as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean (1989); two sons, Mike (1981) and Steve Geddes (2007); a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley Geddes; a niece, Molly Jo Geddes; a nephew, Danny Smith; and a sister-in-law, June Zuehl.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 3, 2015, at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., in Forest City. Memorials may be directed to the Karen Ann Geddes memorial fund in care of the family.
