Sydney Larson
August 27, 1998 - February 21, 2015

Sydney Danielle Larson of Thompson, Iowa, was called to heaven on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Sydney, a daughter of Dan Larson and Shelly Hamson, was born on August 27, 1998, in Mason City, Iowa. She was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson and was currently attending North Iowa High School.

Active in sports, Sydney played volleyball and basketball throughout high school. Growing up, she, always, had a big heart for animals and a special love for horses. Moreover, she enjoyed the wide open space on the farm.

She loved to stop to see Grandma Larson to say hi and visit. Her special interests included the dangerous inches of stilletos heels, the endless amount of makeup that consumed the bathroom counter, and a signature look of hot pink with rhinestone bedazzle, especially on those high heels.

Fun loving, Sydney did not mind being goofy just to make people laugh. Known for her mischievous grin that always gave away that she was up to something, she was, always, sending friends funny and sometimes unexpected pictures from her phone. She had a lifelong passion for becoming a model, and with her collection of high heels, she was set. A social butterfly, she loved being surrounded by friends, and she relished her time joking and laughing with her siblings. She was currently employed at All-Pro Detail of Buffalo Center.

Sydney is survived by her parents, Shelly and Mike Hamson and Dan Larson and Kelly Pederson; her grandparents, Eileen Larson and Gerald and Gloria Hamson; her siblings, Alannah and Reece Larson; Chris, and special friend Shannon Steinke; Micah Hamson; and Alexys, Olivia, and Benjamin Pederson; as well as aunts, uncles, several cousins, a nephew, and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Carroll Larson, and her maternal grandparents Chuck and Gilda Steinfeldt.

Funeral services for Sydney will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Thompson, with Pastors Lynn Noel and Katie Pals officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. also at the church.
