Daron Franklin Fritz, 47, of Lake Mills, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday evening, April 11, 2014, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Daron Fritz was born on September 27, 1966, in Battle Creek, Iowa, the son of DeLaine and Lois (Albers) Fritz. He graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1985 and the University of South Dakota in 1989. He, then, went on to earn his law degree at Drake University, graduating with honors in 1992.

Daron met his wife, Teresa Tonner, while a student at the University of South Dakota. They married on July 29, 1989, at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar, Iowa. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Morgan and Mason.

Daron loved spending time with his family which included going to the kids’ sporting events and traveling. Known for his detailed itineraries, he, also, enjoyed planning every aspect of their family vacations.

Daron practiced law in Lake Mills, Iowa. Between 1994 and 2013, he served as Winnebago County Magistrate Judge. An active member of Salem Lutheran Church, he served there as well in leadership roles and taught Sunday school. Moreover, he enjoyed coaching children’s sports, playing golf, and running in marathons and 5ks.

Daron is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; his two great kids, Morgan and Mason; and his mother, Lois Fritz, all of Lake Mills, Iowa; his brothers, Damon Fritz, and his son, of LaPorte City, Iowa, and Daeon Fritz, and his children, of Maryville, Tennessee; along with his in-laws. Daron was preceded in death by his father, DeLaine Fritz.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 21, 2014, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Scott Duffus officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Salem Lutheran Church, 401 South Lake Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, and then again one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Scarville, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of North Iowa.
